Trevor M. Landers
Trevor M Landers MA, MPM, MEd, MCW, MNTCW (Pending) comes from Ngāruahine country, calls Kaūpokonui his tūrangawaewae, and despite living in Ngāmotu, holds an Irish and Kiwi passport. Foolishly, he is trying to combine Narrative Therapy, academic management, and poetry, though not all at once. . His first volume of poetry was published in 2001 while he was a Visiting Fellow at Universitatea de Vest, Timisoara, Romania, followed by Romania with Love, launched in New Plymouth in 2004 with co-author Cristina Galeata. In 2020, his collected poems from 2015-2019 was published, and in 2021, he edited an acclaimed national anthology, Singlets, Shorts and Briefs, based on the NZ Short Film Festival. Whetu Mārama, a tribute to the late Bill Gosden, former Director of the International Film Festival will be launched later this year. A major new work, Drawn from Life, a collaboration with life drawing artists will be published by Lasavia Publishing in Auckland via Germany before Xmas, hopefully. A series of Waiheke Island poems, Waiheke Songs, will be released in early 2022. Trevor is also co-editing a major new anthology of New Zealand poems, featuring all of New Zealand’s Poet Laureates and 70 other NZ poets, also due for release in Summer 2022. Trevor had travelled to 103 countries before COVID ended his adventuring. He writes predominantly in English, but also in Te reo Māori, French, Spanish and Romanian. He dreams of living in a massive library and having administrative support for the journal. 'Real equality would also be great’ he quipped.
